the sun shelf 3 is the biggest, most capable garden we've ever made, and the easiest version yet to live with. It builds on years of work, right back to our 2019 family farm (which even made it into Costco), and brings together everything we've learned since.
The lights are twice as efficient as before, thanks to a lens over every diode that sends more light to your plants for less power. The supersized 20L basins hold enough water that you'll go three to four months between refills. And the whole thing sits on a light, sturdy bamboo frame that runs from a single wall socket.

Each panel mixes warm white and deep red light to give your plants the full spectrum they use to grow, and a lens over every diode focuses it down onto the leaves rather than wasting it on the room. You get strong, even growth on every level of the shelf. Set the brightness and the daily timer to suit what you're growing, then leave the lights to get on with it.

If you love growing your own food, the hydroponics here make it simple. The big 20L basins only need refilling every three to four months, and the plants sit nice and far apart, which means better growth, better airflow, fewer pests and easier harvesting. The silicone net cups keep algae away and make transplanting gentle, and the aeration pump plugs straight into the light panel, so there's nothing fiddly to wire up.

The lights clip straight onto each level, the whole shelf runs from a single cable, and the pumps connect to the lights and run on the same timers. The frame is made from fast-growing bamboo, which generally grows without pesticides, fertilisers or irrigation, so it's a genuinely sustainable choice. The shelves adjust from 154mm to 754mm apart, so you can make room for anything from low houseplants to tall seedlings or even vegetables. The lighting clips arrive ready assembled, so there's no fussing with a screwdriver to get your lights up.

the sun shelf 3 is designed to be simple to put together. The bamboo frame assembles with the included Allen key and 16 screws in around 20 minutes.
